but total recall should record internet calls.
i configured sip and internet phone on my n95 and both
incoming & outgoing calls are not being recorded.

Internet calls are MUCH different than normal GSM calls - the technologies are entirely different. However, we do have plans to implement this - it's like having to build a second recorder from scratch, whih is why it's taking time.

However it's certainly no bug!

i missed the same SIP recording feature

would like to add to this that with programmes like fring and nimbuzz one can make calls via msn, skype, google talk

to record on these does this mean another rebuild of the application from scratch?

It doesn't mean a complete rebuild, however it would require a completely seperate module that just records these VoIP calls. Right now, we auto record calls because the device tells us a call is initiated and hung up - with VoIP we get no such notice. Also, we record the direct audio stream, it's a completely different stream when dealing with SIP calls - so there's a lot of work to be done!

to make it practical in the short time i could imagine that one could use the 'record now' button manually and that the application would take the audio streams coming from both microphone and 'speaker' incoming signal - and stop the recording also manually

in a second step the automatic functioning could be added

(i tried this manual recording now but it doesn't records sip call or msn call today - file with a nambe but with 0kB in the log)
